Joel Q. Braddock - 1939

This is the final version of my first assignment in raster based imaging: photo retouch. The original is 2" x 3 1/2" black and white photograph from 1929 or 1939, depending on what that little mark some might call a number is. The man in the picture is my Grandfather, who was a pilot in the Air Force, and later a Colonel. I've cleaned up all the scrathes and dust, which there wasn't much of, and on the advice of my instuctor, I colorized it to add some challenge. I couldn't find any reliable color references for the aircraft or flight suit, and since my Grandfather is no longer alive, I can't ask him. I tried to avoid altering the tones as much as possible, while avoiding gray where I could. The clouds where added for interest. Based on my instructor's comments, I probably got an A.
